What is biodynamic and organic agriculture?

Biodynamics is a farming method that abstains from using synthetic chemical substances. Two distinguishing characteristics of biodynamics are:

• Ploughing and screefing to till the land. This is the biological aspect of biodynamics.

• Enhancing the plants and soil in their natural environment via plant-, animal- and mineral-based substances applied at specific points in time. This is the dynamic aspect of biodynamics.

The treatments aim to re-establish a healthy balance. Biodynamic agriculture is first and foremost a way of farming that takes care of the land.

Organic farming is a system of agricultural production based on a respect for life ad natural cycles that benefits the agrosystem as well as  biodiversity, biological soil activity and biological cycles.
